Gwenllian Morgan Sculpture

I have been selected to make a sculpture of Gwenllian Morgan for the court room at Y Gaer for the Brecon Story Network project “Bringing Gwenllian Morgan to Life”.

Gwenllian Morgan was the first female mayor in Wales, second in the UK, a feminist hero waiting to be discovered, a brilliant historian and local politician.

Brecon Story : “Not only is it a strong representation of Gwenllian herself but we loved the concept of 'climbing the ladder' so beautifully portrayed. This is a nod not only to Gwenllian obviously climbing her own ladder and becoming Wales's first female Mayor but also paving the way for women to express themselves, be valued and have more opportunities, helping young women climb the ladder by accessing education and portals of public life.”
